Dauch / Branding

Concept

Packaging as product

While brainstorming, we realised that we wanted to work on a packaging that could be used as an extension of the product itself. This led to the idea of a tape packaging that serves as a one-time dispenser, and dauch was born.

Mechanism

USP

the ideas for the USP of the product came to us as the points below:
  • forming another product with the packaging
  • the style of packaging itself being the USP
  • packaging being used as an add-on to the product
  • branding with a purpose

Logo

derived from a capital D-shape as well as the form of a portable tape dispenser, the logo ties itself to the packaging, while the text is stuck to one side in order to display an ‘adhesive’ quality.

Brand name

  • the name, dauch, is derived from two words, daub and patch, both of which refer to fixing something.
  • the name also sounds similar to the sound of tape unwrapping.
  • the word and alphabet gives a feeling of roundness without being too bubbly.
stick to it.
